      <image:title>Bring it Home - Release #4 june 2026 - TRACK ONE: elijah</image:title>
<image:caption>My firstborn son, Elijah, was born in Anacortes, Washington, on December 11, 2000. I was 22 years old, and his mother, Sarah, 23 at the time, lived on San Juan Island in a cabin. Sarah wanted to have a natural birth at home, so we had a wonderful midwife named Jackie from Orcas Island there with us, along with Sarah’s mom, sister, and her best friend, Kelly Noble. After being fully dilated for far too long, it became clear that Elijah wasn’t going to come out easily. Jackie made the right call at exactly the right time: head to the airport and take an emergency flight from San Juan Island to Anacortes. After a bumpy truck ride from the cabin, and after being told to push for more than 24 hours, Sarah was suddenly being told to hold on while we took a short flight across the water. Once we arrived at the hospital, Elijah immeditely arrived without any problems. He was still delivered completely naturally, and Sarah was an absolute champ through the entire experience. I wrote the little melody that became the chorus while holding Elijah in the hospital that day. The rest of the song filled itself in over many years. His stepmother, Genevieve, who helped raise him for many years, also contributed a few lyrics to the song. I recorded this track in a single day at the iconic Bear Creek Studio in Woodinville, Washington. My good buddy Aaron Guest worked on the tune with me, and we enlisted some of the interns who happened to be there that day. One played drums, while the others chipped in on the vocal harmonies and chorus. Gerry played Hammond organ, and I played the rest of the instruments. Aaron also helped behind the scenes, nudging things like the bass and kick drum into place. Over the years, this song has really held its weight as a recording, especially considering it came together in a single-day session. I'm proud of how it sounds, and I may end up recording a live version soon simply because I love it so much. Today, Elijah is 25 years old and an absolute gem of a human being. He has shaped my life in the best possible ways. I'm incredibly proud to be his dad, and I love that this song honors his sweet spirit. ❤️</image:caption>

      <image:title>Bring it Home - Release #3 MAY 2026 - TRACK ONE: GOING IN</image:title>
<image:caption>This one has been following me around for years. “Going In” was recorded a long time ago while Flowmotion was touring through California. I always loved the rawness of this version, but somehow it always slipped to the back burner and has stayed there for years. No better time than the present! Listening back now, the song feels just as relevant to me as when I first wrote it. Maybe even more. So I just re-recorded it. The older I get, the more I realize how easy it is to get pulled in every direction by noise, pressure, expectations, and distraction. This song is a reminder to return inward. To slow down. To listen. To trust your own compass - which for me is a constant challenge. “Begin Again”…as they say in meditation:) Going In helps me do that.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Bring it Home - Release #2: APRIL 2026 - TRACK ONE: FORTIFIED</image:title>
<image:caption>This song is very dear to my heart. It came through in one sitting, alone in a small hotel room in Moscow, Idaho. One of those moments where the song just shows up and you try your best to get out of the way and capture it before it disappears. And then… it kind of sat there. For a long time. I could never quite find where it fit. It didn’t land with the band, and I rarely played it solo. It always felt like it was missing something, like it was waiting for the right voice to step in and complete it. That’s where Tony Furtado comes in. During the Driftless sessions, I had a bit of a lightbulb moment about what the song needed. Not more layers… just the right sound. Tony is one of the most incredible slide guitar and dobro players out there, and somehow, luckily for me, he’s right here in the Pacific Northwest. I’d been a fan of his for years, so I took a shot and cold-called him. He said yes. He tracked his parts remotely, and when I opened what he sent back… I was floored. It was one of those moments where the song finally reveals what it was always meant to be. Honestly, I almost left it right there - just his slide guitar parts, my vocal, and the bass. It felt that complete. In the end, I added just a few more touches, a minimal piano part, some acoustic guitar, light percussion… but really tried to stay out of the way and let the heart of it speak. Some songs take the long road. This one definitely did. But I’m really glad it found its way here.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Bring it Home - Release #1: MARCH 2026 - Track One: Who Waits</image:title>
<image:caption>Who Waits is an original that I wrote together with Genevieve Hayton many years ago. Within minutes of me sitting down and showing her the melody and riff, Genevieve started busting out the amazing lyrics. This is one of those songs that nearly fell out of the sky for us and flowed immediately. It’s so simple, but the deep lyrics and the powerful message “Who waits for things to change” instantly stick in your mind. The lyrics center around the all too familiar tension and division we’re dealing with as a country and global community. How “the man” seems to be running the show regardless of how we as a community feel about the way things are happening.</image:caption>
